Labour Law

Provincial and federal labour legislation regulate collective bargaining and union-management relations and deals with such matters as rights and duties of employees, trade unions and employers, unfair labour practices, certification of trade unions, successor rights and obligations, collective bargaining, strikes, lockouts and picketing, mediation an disputes resolution, and arbitration procedures.

I advise clients on labour relations matters; represent small to medium size employers in collective bargaining; provide advice to clients on the interpretation and administration of collective agreements; and represent clients before courts, arbitration panels, administrative tribunals, such as the B.C. Labour Relations Board or the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

On the employer side, I represent mainly small to medium sized companies, and have over the years developed a good understanding of the constraints such businesses are operating under in British Columbia.

I have also served as an arbitrator in collective agreement disputes between trade unions and employers.
